For the second year in a row, the “Terra Alta” Designation of Origin Wine Competition has chosen LaFou Els Amelers as the “Best Terra Alta Garnacha Blanca Wine” of 2013. The awards for this competition, held by the Regulatory Board of the “Terra Alta” D.O., were given as part of the inaugural events for the 26th Gandesa Wine Festival.
The Gandesa Wine Festival has become a benchmark in promoting wines produced in the Terres de l’Ebre region and is one of Catalonia’s most traditional festivals.
LaFou Celler took part in two of the most important activities for this Wine Festival: the “Mostra de Vins” (Wine Exhibition) and the “Nit de les Garnatxes Blanques” (Garnacha Blanca Night). We raised awareness of our wines at the Wine Exhibition while the award-winning LaFou Els Amelers also took part in the 4th Garnacha Blanca Night, where around 40 different wines made mostly from this variety can be tasted, paired with top quality tapas made by Restaurant Villa Retiro in Xerta, the only restaurant in the Terres de l’Ebre region with 1 Michelin star.
