Lluís Tolosa and Clara Antúnez have produced a book highlighting the “100 vins catalans que has de conèixer” (100 Catalan wines you must get to know). And two of the wines from LaFou Celler are among these great, internationally recognised Catalan wines.
Regarding LaFou de Batea, the authors note that “it’s the only red wine from the Terra Alta D.O. that has achieved 94 Parker points… and the 2008 vintage was rated 94 by Tim Atkin, one of the best wine critics from the United Kingdom”. Regarding LaFou Els Amelers, they note that “it was the only Catalan wine to be given the Gran Medalla d’Or in the 2013 Grenaches du Monde competition held in Perpignan (France)… The jury only gave this top prize to nine wines in the world. Seven were French wines, one was Italian and the other is this wine from the Terra Alta region.”
