On 16th September, Sweden celebrated “Grenache Day”.
This occasion is aimed at promoting Spanish wines, as well as to highlight and present the Spanish wine sector as a modern and innovative one in which sustainability and adapting to the environment play an essential role. Grenache was the driving force behind this promotional campaign as in recent years, this variety of native grape has achieved great international popularity thanks to its versatility.
A Masterclass on the Grenache variety led by Master of Wine, Mr. Fernando Mora, was one of the key activities on this day. At the seminar, the Master of Wine took guests on a journey through Spanish wine-growing geography for this variety of grape. He presented eight wines, one of which was LaFou Els Amelers, which the MW chose to include.
