30 of the world’s best sommeliers, according to The 50’s Best, tasted wines from around the world at the exclusive World’s Best Sommeliers’ Selection tasting.
The sommeliers, led by Josep Roca of Celler de Can Roca, came from the restaurants Disfrutar (Barcelona), DiverXO (Madrid), Alchemist (Copenhagen), The Jane (Antwerp), Gaggan Anand (Bangkok) and Quintonil (Mexico City), among others.
Among the wines tasted was LaFou de Rams 2018, the new LaFou Celler wine made using white Garnacha from the Rams vineyard, which is more than 50 years old. The sommeliers highlight that the wine “can elevate a dish with its complex layers and superb tension. Fascinatingly made with lees contact and a small portion of multi-vintage orange blended in. The result is vibrant, super fresh, with many layers of flavours emerging over time”.
