Renowned wine critics Tim Atkin MW and Fintan Kerr have unveiled their second Report on Catalan Wines, featuring a selection of the region’s finest wines.
Within their ranking, the experts reserve a podium of excellence, highlighting different categories, including “Best Value Red Wine of the Year”. This year, the title has been awarded to LaFou El Sender 2021. They mention that it is a wine and project they know well, but that “the 2021 vintage take it to another level”. Furthermore, they describe it as “this must be one of the most enjoyable wines to drink out of the entire report”.
The report was presented within the framework of the Barcelona Wine Week, and during its presentation, some of the most outstanding wines could be tasted, including LaFou El Sender 2021, introduced by Ramon Roqueta, owner and winemaker of the winery.
In addition to this award, the rest of the winery’s wines have also received outstanding scores: LaFou de Rams (94 points), of which they highlight that it is “a complex, shifting wine. Fascinating and delicious”, LaFou Els Amelers (93 points), and LaFou de Batea (92 points).
